Finlandia Prize for Architecture 2019

Serpentine House refurbishment wins the 2019 Finlandia Prize for Architecture.
Alongside the Serpentine House refurbishment project, other projects on the 2019 Finlandia Prize for Architecture shortlist were the Helsinki Central Library Oodi, the refurbishment of Jyväskylä University’s Main Building, Kruunuvuorenranta Waste Transfer Terminal and Vaaralanpuisto Day Care Centre.The winner was selected by artist and author Hannu Väisänen and announced on 7 October.

The purpose of the Finlandia Prize for Architecture – awarded by the The Finnish Association of Architects (SAFA) – is to promote the appreciation of high-quality architecture and to highlight the importance of architecture in producing cultural value and increasing well-being.
